November 2010: The government is offering communities cash incentives to agree for new homes to be built in their area. Nearly £1 billion has been set aside for local councils that welcome new housing development, which theywill be able to spend to benefit their local community. The government will match the Council Tax raised from all new homes for six years.The delivery of new affordable housing, however, will attract a higher level of cash reward.
